About Abia

    Abia is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria and It is the first state in the alphabetical order of states and capitals in Nigeria. It was created on 27th of August 1991 under the government of General Ibrahim Babangida. It takes its name from the acronym of four of the state’s most populated regions which are Aba, Bende, Isuikwuato, and Afikpo.
